Fitness Diet – Shape Your Body For Health

Did you know that if you aren’t following the right fitness diet a lot of your time in the gym is going to waste?

Don’t get me wrong, the time you spend in the gym is necessary, but if you want your body to be sculpted and function properly on the inside and out you need to pay attention to your diet health, or what you are putting into your body.

Here are some recommendations to implement into your fitness diet. Bring these into your diet health everyday and you will see your fitness levels sky-rocket.

Organic Fruits and Vegetables

Organic fruits and vegetables are the most important food in any kind of diet. They have minimal fat, are loaded with vitamins and minerals and curb hunger pangs.

At least five portions of a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables a day is advisable. More fruit is recommended if you are a heavy weight-lifter or high caliber athlete as your muscles need to replace the sugar that is burned off during hard exercise.

Protein

Protein intake is vital to any fitness diet and is a very necessary part of anyone’s diet health. You can get your protein from meat, eggs, and/or protein powders.

Protein should be ingested in the morning and after your work out (within 45 minutes of working out). For heavy weight lifters protein should also be ingested before bedtime and once in the middle of the night.

Proteins help:

* Replace and form new tissue (muscle building)
* Regulate the balance of water in your body
* Reduce stress and anxiety
* Transport oxygen and nutrients in your blood and cells
* Create a faster metabolism

High Fiber Food

High-fiber foods, such as legumes, cereals, and grains, help the digestive system run effectively so they are great for your fitness diet. Fiber foods also help in increasing energy levels and reducing hunger pangs.

Balance Your Fitness Diet

No matter what you do it is essential that you are getting a variety of food groups into your diet. Well-balanced diet health includes 55 % of calories from carbohydrates, 20 % from fat and 25% from protein will keep you healthy and able to work out well into old age.

How Often Should I Eat For Optimal Fitness Levels?

With a fitness diet it is best to eat five or six times a day, instead of two or three, and each time only eat something that is the size of your fist. This will increase your metabolism and keep your stomach from expanding in size.

As you start your fitness diet keep in mind that everyone is different, what gives someone else energy may not help you so much so be aware of what you are eating and how it makes you feel. Then only include the foods in your diet that make you feel good, or full of energy.

Aromatherapy Today

Although the word aromatherapy has not been around forever, the use of plants, herbs, fruits and flowers for healing have been centuries long. Aromatherapy is still being researched today for it’s wide variety of uses, including the healing effects that is has on the body.

The most effective method of using essential oils is surprisingly enough not orally, but through inhalation or external application methods. When taken internally the oils mix with digestive juices and other matter, therefore changing the essential oil’s chemistry. External methods that you use to apply essential oils involves but is not limited to: body oils, compresses, baths, lotions, foot baths & rubs, applications on certain pressure points pertaining to particular areas of the body, inhalations (steam or direct from the bottle or on a tissue), room sprays and perfumes.

Most essential oils are both antiviral and antiseptics and can be extremely powerful as well as having a wide range of pleasant aromas. Such an example of that power is the essential oil of oregano, which is 26 times more powerful as an antiseptic than phenol- an active ingredient in many commercial cleaners.

Due to the rise in technology we have left many effective natural healing methods behind. Although technology is certainly very useful and beneficial, we must also remember everything Mother Nature has provided us with and take full advantage of these natural wonders.

Scents in and of themselves leave lasting impressions on our mind, body and spirit. How many of us are reminded of a person place or event when we get a whiff of a familiar scent? My Grandmother had a beautiful garden filled with peonies and roses during the summers when I was a child. When I smell them in my own garden now, I am instantly taken back in time to Grandma’s backyard on a lazy summer day.

We always associate smells with events. Turkeys and pumpkin pies make us think of Thanksgiving, and fall……Pine and peppermint brings thoughts of Christmas with our family and friends. These scents not only affect our noses, but our minds and well, not to mention our bodies and spirits.

For those of you who haven’t ventured beyond the ‘aromatic’ properties of natural essential oils, maybe it’s time you take another step forward and do so. With some integration of these fabulous gifts from Mother Nature into your daily life, you can discover just how many wonderful ways you can use them- not just for the mind, but for the body and spirit as well.

How I Used Ear Plugs to Help Block Out My Partners Snoring and Attain a Good Nights Rest

Using ear plugs helped block out snoring noise of my partner

How would you feel if every night for years in a roll your partner or spouse would produce noises of epic proportions during the night, when you are trying to sleep? While early on it may start with an acceptance with a smile, after a while and sleepless nights it will most assuredly become an unbearable nuisance. Your spouse, if made aware of the predicament, may very much be willing to assist in damping the wood sawing noise to a subdued whiff, but if the anti snoring devices and nose drops did not help, what is left to do? Coming up is the explanation why sleeping ear plugs or sleep ear plugs are the only way to relief.

Some people visit a specialist, who takes a look at the spouse’s schnauz and decides that there must be a deviation in the channels somewhere, suggests surgery, perhaps even rhinoplasty.

The Causes Of Epilepsy

Commonly known as a seizure disorder, epilepsy is a chronic neurological condition which causes seizures to arise often, and unprovoked. The word “Epilepsy” is named by the Greek. It means to “take hold of” or “to seize”. Surgical methods are sometimes used to treat this condition, but medication is the general and more common method.

Not every cause of epilepsy [http://www.epilepsyspot.com] is known to humans, but many probable factors have been identified. These factors include brian damage, head trauma, high fever, bacterial encephalitis, intoxication, acute disturbances of metabolism, brain tumor, and other penetrating wounds to the head. The largest cause of epilepsy, however, is hereditary or genetic.

Any person can endure an epileptic seizure under certian circumstances. The seizures can be provoked by drug overdoses, or in some cases even acute illness. The condition epilepsy, however, does not apply to these people. Epilepsy is defined by recurring, unprovoked seizures, although there is controversy over symptoms required to be diagnosed with the disease.

Only 1 percent of the worlds population suffers from epilepsy according to its criteria, however, it is estimated that there is a slightly higher percentage of actual conditions. Most of this percentage is found in persons under the age of 19, or over the age of 65. The diagnosis criteria for epileptics is widely controversial in the field of medicine. Partial – complex seizures can arguably be considered epileptic, which is why the controversy continues.

Neurofeedback to Treat a Seizure Disorder

When you think of epilepsy, you can’t help but think about the seizure disorder that invariably goes along with it. An epileptic seizure diagnosis can disrupt your life by forcing you to give up driving a car or swimming alone, as well as always being worried about when the next one will strike. If there was a therapy or medication that could cut back on the number of them you experience or completely eliminate them altogether, would you take the opportunity? If you said yes, then consider neurobiofeedback therapy.

Neurofeedback is thought of as biofeedback for the brain. If you have a seizure disorder associated with epilepsy, then you may have already heard of biofeedback, which can help you prepare for them by teaching the brain to recognize when one is coming. This therapy can train your brain in a different way by actually changing the way it works through rewarding it when it functions in the correct way. This is done through the use of electrical impulses that generate inside your brain. The impulses run through a machine that audibly or visually respond to the signals it sends.

With regard to classification of seizures, there is great evidence available that suggests the brain can be trained to prevent most epileptic or focal (simple or complex) ones from ever occurring. A study conducted in 2001 showed that 82% of patients with epilepsy who were treated with neurotherapy significantly improved without the use of any type of medication. Most of these patients showed a big reduction in its activity, and in many cases this change was for the long term.

Another group of scientists conducted a different type of study involving the use of neurofeedback therapy. In this study, they used this therapy to actually induce epileptic seizures by training the brain to follow patterns that cause them. This experiment was also very successful, thus demonstrating that neurofeedback therapy can train the brain to function within almost any pattern or wavelength that is chosen.

If you feel that neurofeedback therapy might be the epilepsy treatment that you are looking for, then you should look for a neurotherapist in your area. He or she will conduct what’s called a quantitative EEG assessment before you actually begin the treatment. Although a QEEG test is not necessarily used for many disorders that are treatable with this type of therapy, in the case of epilepsy it can provide the therapist with very helpful information about how the brain is functioning.

Neurofeedback therapy is painless and non-invasive and is usually without side effects, besides the mildly annoying feeling of being sleepy after a session. With lots of evidence in its favor, this therapy shows unusual promise for those suffering with a seizure disorder due to epilepsy. This non-invasive treatment method could very well prove to be the treatment option that finally allows those who suffer from recurrent seizures to get their lives back.

Cold Sore Treatment – Grandma’s Breakthrough Treatment Leaves Experts Clueless

About 50% to 80% of the American population carries the herpes simplex 1 virus. That is easily more than 100 million Americans that have suffered from unsightly red and painful cold sores at least once in their entire lifetime. Sad to say, even though medical research funds in the tune of millions have been poured into researching and finding a permanent cure for the herpes virus, it has been thus far a wild goose chase.

Prescription anti-virus products can at most bring temporary comfort to cold sore sufferers by reducing the itch and pain. Vaccines are still in the early experimental stage, and have not been fully developed to produce positive results.

For the time being, cold sore sufferers can only rely upon over-the-counter (OTC) medications. Such medications often contain numbing properties, or are anti-viral in nature. They can also simply be pain-killers that in essence alleviate pain and bring temporary relief. But none can effectively reduce the normal 10 day period of cold sore attacks, which in serious cases can be even longer. These products are also ineffective in preventing cold sore recurrences.

People have also reported that there could be side-effects associated with using such medications. These side-effects include excessive dryness of skin, peeling, etc.

While modern science and medicine are advanced, our physical bodies still respond better to natural treatment methods. More and more medical experts are now convinced that applying natural cold sore treatment could be the correct way to treat cold sores without suffering from the harmful side-effects. Traditional home remedies passed down by the older folks are slowly making their way into American homes. After all, external drugs tend to create chemical imbalances in our bodies, and could have far-reaching repercussions on our health. At the same time, these homemade cold sore treatment can often be administered cheaply, frequently at a fraction of OTC medication costs.

It is amazing that nature has provided us with herbs or even plants that have great medicinal and healing properties. Even our common household items like toothpaste has the effect of cooling sores.

A long-time cold sore sufferer recently documented in her book about how she was able to win her struggle against cold sore recurrences. She also penned down the natural cold sore treatment methods that helped her cure her cold sores in 3 short days. In her report, she revealed how anyone can duplicate her treatment to heal cold sores from home. You can read more about her story and treatment methods from the resource below.

I hope that this article has encouraged you to seriously consider natural cold sore treatment as an alternative to OTC medicines.
